‘You want me to have a heart attack, but I will live to see your end’, Mamata Banerjee’s big attack on BJP – 10 Points

Amidst the ongoing turmoil in West Bengal politics, the Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee Has made a scathing attack on BJP. After senior party leader and MLA Madan Mitra joined the rebel group, Mamata clearly said that those who want to go can go, but this will not weaken the party.

During Facebook Live, Mamata Banerjee targeted BJP and said, “BJP wants me to have a heart attack, but I will remain alive and will see your end.” He claimed that his party and family are constantly facing political harassment because they never compromised.

What did Mamata Banerjee say?

  1. Mamta Banerjee said that Abhishek Banerjee is not the reason for Madan Mitra leaving the party. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) sent summons to Madan Mitra’s wife and two sons for questioning, after which they took this decision.
  2. The former CM said, “Abhishek is just being made an excuse. Summons were also sent to his family several times, but he never tried to step back from the political fight or compromise. He fought boldly and this is his biggest strength.”
  3. Targeting the rebel leaders, Mamata Banerjee said that the leaders who have left the party are doing so out of fear.
  4. The former CM said, “I apologize to the public on behalf of the traitors. I never sold my conscience to save politics. If I had compromised, I and my family would not have had to face so much harassment.”
  5. Mamta alleged that BJP is pressurizing the leaders by using central agencies and police and that is why many leaders are leaving the party.
  6. Mamta Banerjee claimed that despite all the difficulties, her party is strong. There are still 18 MPs with him in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
  7. The former CM said that the MPs or MLAs who have joined the rebel group have done so out of fear of the investigating agencies and the police.
  8. On Wednesday, Madan Mitra left Mamata Banerjee and joined the rebel group led by Ritabrata Banerjee. He said that he has only ‘changed his room’ in the Assembly.
  9. Mitra says that he had demanded from the party leadership that Abhishek Banerjee should step down from the post for six months, so that the party could be strengthened again, but when his demand was not accepted, he decided to leave the party.
  10. Senior TMC leader Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay said that Madan Mitra leaving the party is sad. After ED sent summons to his wife and sons, he came under mental pressure and this was the reason why he left the party.
