Kohli’s bodyguard is misbehaving with journalists in England! Is Virat violating BCCI rules? Know the entire controversy in 5 points
India vs England ODI Series: These days, Team India is on a tour of England, where a 3-match ODI series is being played between the two teams. After winning the first match, the Indian team is ahead 1-0 in the series, now before the second match, Team India’s veteran batsman Virat Kohli has come into controversy but the root of the controversy is not his quarrel on the field but his personal bodyguard misbehaving with Indian journalists.
It is alleged that Kohli’s personal bodyguard misbehaved with Indian sports journalists accredited in England. After this incident, many questions have started being raised in the cricket and media world. The matter has now reached the question whether BCCI rules allow players to have personal bodyguards?
Know the entire controversy in 5 points
1. According to RevSportz journalist Subhayan Chakraborty and Jagran News journalist Abhishek Tripathi, before the Indian team left for Cardiff, accredited media persons were recording video of the team’s departure in the designated media area. Both the journalists say that they had valid media accreditation.
2. Journalists allege that Virat Kohli had already boarded the team bus when a personal bodyguard present with him went to a journalist and repeatedly said ‘get lost’. The journalist claims that he showed himself to be an authorized media person and showed his official identity card, but despite this the alleged use of abusive language continued.
3. Abhishek Tripathi alleged that the concerned bodyguard had already behaved rudely with the media. He also claimed that during the incident a fan’s mobile phone was snatched and broken. These allegations have not yet been confirmed by any independent source, nor has there been any official response from Virat Kohli or BCCI in this regard.
4. As per the current BCCI guidelines, no player is allowed to have personal staff or personal bodyguards with him during foreign tours or home series. The responsibility for the safety of the players lies with the BCCI and the local organizers. In such a situation, the question is arising that if a personal bodyguard was present with Kohli, was special permission taken for it? At present no official information is available about this.
5. In the viral pictures and videos on social media, a person is constantly seen with Virat Kohli. However, it is not clear whether he is a private security personnel or part of the official security apparatus. If he is a personal bodyguard, it is also possible that special permission may have been taken from BCCI for this. According to reports, when Virat Kohli went out with other players of Team India in Birmingham, the same security personnel was seen with him.
