Who is Yamini Maurya?
Yamini Maurya is a resident of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. He entered the world of Judo at the age of just 9 years. The beginning was not at all easy for Yamini. He faced taunts from family, relatives and many people in the society. Many people believed that an aggressive sport like judo was not suitable for girls.
But Yamini did not give up and silenced all the critics with her hard work and dedication. Within a few months of learning Judo, he proved his talent by winning a gold medal in the State Championship.
stayed away from sports for a year
Yamini’s success story was full of struggles and difficulties. In the year 2017, she got injured during a match. His knee was badly broken in this match, due to which he had to undergo surgery. After the operation, doctors advised him to take rest for a long time. Due to this injury, Yamini had to stay away from sports for almost a year. But after this he started his training again and won gold as soon as he returned to the mat.
Two time national champion
Let us tell you, Sagar’s daughter has been continuously representing the Indian senior team since 2022. She has been Senior National Champion twice. Apart from this, he won gold medals for India in 2025 Hong Kong Asian Open and 2026 Dakar Africa Open. Yamini has been continuously bringing glory to Madhya Pradesh for the last 17 years. Today he has a total of 35 gold medals including national and international.
