Sawan Somwar 2026: All four Mondays of Sawan have different significance, know which puja and remedies to perform on which day.

New Delhi: The holy month of Sawan, dedicated to Lord Shiva, began on July 30th and will continue until August 28th, 2026. In Hinduism, this entire month is considered the most auspicious time for Shiva worship. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva with devotion and regularity during this period, offering water to him, and fasting, removes life’s troubles and fulfills desires. This year, Sawan falls on four Mondays, and each Monday coincides with some auspicious yoga or special festival, further enhancing their religious significance.

This year, the first Sawan Monday will fall on August 3rd. This day, there is a rare combination of Sukarma Yoga and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. The second Monday will fall on August 10th, coinciding with the Som Pradosh fast. The third Sawan Monday will fall on August 17th, marking the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami. The fourth and final Sawan Monday will fall on August 24th, when the auspicious influence of Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will prevail.

Perform a Wealth Boosting Remedy on the First Monday

If financial difficulties, debt, or financial problems persist for a long time, it is considered auspicious to perform a special Abhisheka of Lord Shiva on the first Monday of the Shravan month. For this, take water in a copper or silver vessel and add a little raw milk and black sesame seeds. Then, offer this mixture to the Shivalinga with devotion.

Perform Marriage-Related Remedies on the Second Monday

The second Monday of the Shravan month is considered special for those whose marriage is delayed or who are seeking a life partner of their choice. On this day, take 108 whole Bel leaves and write ‘Om’ or ‘Ram’ on each one with yellow sandalwood. Then, while chanting the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya,’ offer one Bel leaf to Lord Shiva.

On the Third Monday, You Will Receive the Blessings of Health

Good health and mental peace are prayed for on the third Monday of the Shravan month. On this day, first offer pure water to the Shivalinga. Afterward, offer Shami leaves and Durva grass. At the end of the puja, recite the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 108 times with devotion. It is believed to bring positive energy and mental balance.

Pray for a happy married life on the fourth Monday

The joint worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the last Monday of Sawan is considered to be of special significance. On this day, anoint the Shivalinga with sugarcane juice or milk mixed with saffron. Afterward, offer a red scarf and wedding items to Goddess Parvati. It is believed that this practice ensures love, happiness, and mutual trust in married life.
