Actor Kangana Ranaut has hit out at Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan for wading into her ongoing row with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) after her ‘Generation Gutter’ remark.
Now, the BJP MP has criticised Roshan, who she had once called her “silly ex”, for making “unreasonable comments” and encouraging online trolling.
It started when Roshan recently reacted to a post on Instagram, which read, “We need to apologise to Hrithik Roshan”. There were other comments online, ‘Hrithik, we get it”, alluding to Kangana and Roshan’s highly-publicised spat in 2016. These posts started to emerge after Ranaut’s recent derogatory remarks on student protests.
Moreover, responding to the actor-politician’s dig at CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das, the latter quipped that his friends had joked Ranaut may have been targeting him because he looked like a younger Hrithik.
He said, “My friends told me, ‘You look like a young Hrithik Roshan. Maybe that’s why Kangana is attacking you.’
Fair thing to do
Roshan set the cat among the pigeons by responding to an Instagram post shared by Freddy Birdy that read, “The world owes an apology to Hrithik Roshan (sic).”
The actor responded by stating people should not be swayed by online narratives and that he would wait for the right context and facts before taking any position.

“My friend, siding with ‘A’ just cause you don’t like ‘B’ anymore is a small part of the larger systemic issue plaguing our society. I’ll wait, for when the context to it is the right one, and motivated by facts. That would be fair. But then again, who cares anymore right,” he wrote in the comment, appearing to adopt a “fair tone” in the situation!
‘Stop adding fuel to fire’
Ranaut was not about to sit quiet and let that pass.
She dived in, re-sharing the article about his response on her Instagram story on August 1, Ranaut said the actor should rather condemn all those who are harassing and bullying her using Roshan’s name.
“Dear Hrithik I am happy that you have found your perfect match, Saba Azad, and you both look great together, you are in a committed relationship and it doesn’t suit you to tease a woman like this,” she wrote. “Instead, you should condemn all those who are harassing and bullying me using your name, stop adding fuel to fire and embarrassing your partner, hope better sense prevails and you stop making unreasonable comments,” she added.

The feud
The feud between both the actors dates back to 2016 when both had a dispute over whether they shared a romantic relationship, escalating into legal battles, leaked emails, and periodic public clashes. Ranaut claimed they were together for a brief period, with Roshan completely denying all the claims.
Their latest online exchange has once again brought that bitter fallout between them, which had divided Bollywood at that time, into focus.
