Home Sales Recorded
Maruti Suzuki’s total sales in July 2026 were 241,421 units, compared to a significantly lower figure in the same month last year. The highlight of this performance was the company’s domestic passenger vehicle sales, which reached an all-time high of 200,123 units. This is the first time the company has achieved sales of over 200,000 vehicles in the Indian market in a single month.
Which Maruti cars are in high demand?
The company’s impressive growth is largely driven by the growing popularity of SUVs and utility vehicles. This segment, comprising models like the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Fronx, and Ertiga, recorded sales of 78,851 units, a significant increase from 52,773 units last year.
Meanwhile, the compact and mid-size segment, comprising cars like the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and WagonR, continued to dominate. This segment contributed a total of 90,822 units in July, remaining the largest share of the company’s sales.

How were commercial car sales?
The affordable car segment also saw a positive trend. Sales of mini cars like the Alto and S-Presso increased to 12,634 units from 6,822 units last year. Additionally, the Eeco van sold 13,896 units, while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle sold 3,920 units.
Slight decline in exports
While the company has had a strong start to the financial year in the domestic market, there was a slight decline on the export front. Maruti’s exports in July 2026 declined to 30,056 units from 31,745 units last year.
However, in the first four months (April-July) of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), the company’s total sales reached 924,145 units, a significant improvement over the same period last fiscal year. Auto experts believe that Maruti’s strong presence in the passenger vehicle segment, especially the SUV segment, has helped the company reach this milestone.
