If you accidentally recharged another number, you can get your money back. Learn how to use Jio and Airtel.

Technology Desk: Accidentally recharging a different mobile number is a very common problem. Previously, getting a refund for such a mistake was nearly impossible, but now Reliance Jio and Airtel are offering their customers the ability to reverse an incorrect recharge. However, this feature is available with certain conditions. If you submit your request in a timely manner, your chances of receiving a refund increase.

Jio users should know this

If you’ve recharged to the wrong number through the MyJio app, it can be reversed. However, this feature is only available for recharges made through the MyJio app. If you’ve recharged through Paytm, PhonePe, or any other third-party platform, this feature won’t be available. The most important thing is to request a reversal immediately after the recharge. According to reports, this option is usually only available for about 3 hours.

How to reverse wrong recharge using MyJio App

To reverse an incorrect recharge, first open the MyJio app and log in to your account. Go to Transaction History and select the most recent incorrect recharge. If the option to reverse the recharge is available, tap “Cancel Plan.” Then, select the correct reason, select the refund method, and submit the request. Once the request is accepted, Jio will refund the amount back to your original payment method or account.

What should Airtel users do?

If an Airtel number has been accidentally recharged, a complaint can be filed through the Airtel Thanks app. Customers can also seek assistance by calling 121 or toll-free 198. Go to the Help & Support section of the Airtel Thanks app and select the “Facing issue with recent recharge” option.

Then, go to the “Wrong & Accidental Recharge” or “Wrong Recharge Reversal” option. Here, you’ll need to submit your request by entering the Transaction ID, recharge date, amount, and incorrect mobile number. However, reversal on Airtel will also depend on whether the balance or plan on the number that was accidentally recharged has been used.

This feature is quite useful

Many people recharge their parents’, children’s, or friends’ mobile numbers and, in a hurry, choose the wrong number. This new feature can help customers avoid financial loss. However, this feature is available for a limited time only, so it’s important to take immediate action if a mistake occurs.
