Record-breaking performance of Nexon and Punch: Tata Motors sold 63,760 cars in July, sales jumped 59%

Automobile Desk: In the Indian automobile market, domestic automaker Tata Motors has registered strong sales in the month of July. New sales records have been set in the Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment due to the continued craze of customers for the company’s popular SUVs Nexon and Punch. According to the latest data released by the company, a total of 63,760 vehicles have been sold in the domestic and international markets combined, which is 59 percent more than the same period last year.

The domestic Indian market has played a major role in Tata Motors’ success. The company sold 62,611 passenger vehicles in India, compared to 39,521 units in the same month last year. This has resulted in a remarkable growth of approximately 58 percent in the domestic market. Earlier, in June, the company had sold 62,076 vehicles within the country. This increase in July clearly demonstrates the continued strong demand for Tata vehicles in the market.

Tata Motors has also demonstrated strong domestic performance in the global market. In July, the company’s exports increased to 1,149 units, compared to only 654 vehicles in the same period last year. In June, 1,007 cars were shipped to the international market. This positive trend in foreign markets indicates that the acceptance of Indian-made cars is rapidly increasing internationally.

The company’s electric vehicle (EV) portfolio has played a major role in this historic growth. Tata Motors’ EV segment witnessed the fastest growth during July. The company sold a total of 15,217 electric vehicles globally and domestically. In the same period last year, this figure was only 7,124 units, which directly means that EV sales have registered a massive increase of 114 percent. July’s performance has also been much better than the 14,800 EV units sold in the month of June.

Tata Motors’ impressive performance continues for the second consecutive month. The company also achieved a 69% year-on-year growth in June, selling 63,083 vehicles. Although the company faced some challenges in the production and delivery of its upcoming/popular SUV ‘Sierra’ due to local supply chain issues, customer bookings remained strong, and sales figures in July surpassed all previous records.
