‘Will make Punjab number-1’ Big claim of CM Bhagwant Mann, sharp attack on Congress-Akali Dal

Mukerian (Hoshiarpur): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today claimed that the journey of making Punjab the number one state in the country in every field will continue with the support and trust of the people here. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has fulfilled every promise made to the people through revolutionary initiatives in the fields of education, health, power and social welfare. Addressing a huge public meeting at Mukerian Halke, the Chief Minister said that our politics is not to enjoy the pleasures of power, but to ensure progress and prosperity of the people of Punjab.

Targeted at Congress

The Chief Minister said that while his government is focusing on fulfilling its promises by giving more rights to the people, the Congress is embroiled in a power struggle and has already announced that it will discontinue welfare schemes if it comes to power. Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated that those responsible for the desecration of Sri Guru Sahib will not be forgiven and will have to face the law.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "No leader in Congress is ready to stand with the other because everyone wants to become the Chief Minister without caring about the people. The Congress leadership claims that all their leaders will go on a bus yatra, which will be flagged off by Rahul Gandhi. They may go together, but they will definitely not come back together because every leader will be wounded due to their fierce internal fighting."

Appeal to vote in favor of AAP

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to give such a big mandate to the party on the basis of AAP’s pro-people work that these opportunistic leaders do not get a chance to form the government and contest for the Chief Minister’s chair. He said, "Do not hand over power into the hands of these greedy leaders because they will stop all the schemes launched by the AAP government for public welfare. Congress leaders have repeatedly claimed that if they come to power, they will stop these schemes."

Attack on Akali Dal and Sukhbir Badal

Taking aim at Akali Dal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "Akali Dal wants to grab power by making false promises to the people, but the people of Punjab will not fall for their misleading propaganda. People elected Badal as Chief Minister five times, but he never did anything good for the state or its people."

Taking a dig at Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal, he said, "Akali leaders have lost their base among the people. They are using paid workers to attract crowds in their rallies. The same crowd is seen in every Akali rally. These people once claimed that they would rule Punjab for 25 years, but the wise and brave people of the state have pushed them into political oblivion. These opportunistic leaders change their colors and stance according to their convenience and personal political interests. The entire state knows his real face because he has always misled people through political theatrics."

He said, "Those who were once considered invincible, today are not able to find even five members to form their party committee. These leaders gave shelter to gangsters in the state and by patting the backs of drug smugglers, they pushed the youth into the quagmire of drugs. The people of Punjab will never forgive him for these crimes and will once again teach him a befitting lesson. People elected the Akalis again and again, but they betrayed the state and its people."

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stressed, "Akalis are the real traitors of Punjab because they misused religion for their personal political interests. They became rich by usurping the facilities meant for the common people. During his long rule the state fell into disrepair and was ruled by mafias. Late Prakash Singh Badal also did not make Sukhbir Singh Badal the head of the state because he knew that the former Deputy Chief Minister would take Punjab to the brink of ruin."

Government development and public welfare schemes

The Chief Minister said that people’s tax money belongs to the state and it is being spent wisely for their welfare. he adds, "People’s money is going back to the people through development, schools, hospitals and roads. Our government is working for the people. We have provided free electricity to 90 per cent of households, given government jobs to more than 68,000 youth without any corruption, improved roads, saved Rs 70 lakh per day by closing toll plazas and are creating infrastructure across the state."

he adds, "When our government took power, only 22 percent of canal water was used for irrigation. Today this figure has increased to more than 88 percent."

Water conservation and improvement in ground water level

The Chief Minister said, "Recharge points have been created in canals and rivers so that the ground water level can be improved. As a result the groundwater level has risen by two to four metres. This work has been done in the interest of the coming generations, because the meaning of Punjab is water and without water Punjab has no existence."

Told education as the biggest solution

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "No free facility or concession card can be a permanent solution to poverty or other social problems. Education is the key that can improve the living standards of people and bring them out of this vicious cycle."

Punjab becomes number-1 in education

The Chief Minister said, "Due to the tireless efforts of the state government, Punjab has achieved the first position in the country in the field of primary and middle school education, leaving behind Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi. We have upgraded primary and middle schools, strengthened the education system, introduced smart classes and provided modern training to teachers. As a result of these efforts, Punjab is performing excellently in the field of school education. According to the latest data released by NITI Aayog, Punjab has secured the first position in primary and middle school education, leaving behind Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi."

he adds, "For the last four years, our government has paid special attention to teacher training, modern teaching methods and smart classes. Earlier Kerala was at the top position, but now Punjab has secured the first position by a huge margin. We will continue such efforts in future also. Education is the light which removes darkness and illuminates the world. For this reason our government is giving special emphasis on education."

Health Plan and Health Card

Referring to the health related initiatives of the state government, the Chief Minister said, "We have started the Chief Minister Health Scheme, under which health cards are being issued to all 65 lakh families of Punjab. Each family is eligible for cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. Till now, more than 30 lakh beneficiaries have received their health cards and people have received free treatment worth about Rs 650 crore under this scheme. I urge all eligible families to take maximum advantage of these health cards."

Electricity and irrigation for farmers

The Chief Minister said, "For the first time in the history of Punjab, more than eight hours of uninterrupted power supply has been provided to tube wells during the paddy (paddy) season. For the first time, farmers are getting electricity for irrigation during day time, which has brought a big change in their lives."

Mention of ‘Maawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’

Referring to ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’, the Chief Minister said, "Our government has started this important scheme, under which every woman of Punjab above 18 years of age is being given Rs 1,000 per month and Rs 1,500 per month is being given to Scheduled Caste women. Eligible beneficiaries have started getting its benefits from July 1. More than 32 lakh mothers are availing this facility and will receive payment message once again on their mobile phones on 1st August."

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "There is no shortage of funds with the state government for these important schemes being run for the purpose of public welfare."

The Chief Minister said, "Women who could not register in July will be provided funds for three months at once in August. This scheme will never stop. This scheme will continue as long as the Aam Aadmi Party government remains in power."

Public communication and social media messages

Describing this public meeting as a golden opportunity to establish direct communication with the people, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "This is not a political program, but a platform for dialogue with the public. Many governments have come and gone, but no one has shown real concern for the welfare of the people. They kept looting the state’s property and only doing power politics. People then voted for the broom, resulting in sweeping changes in government schools, hospitals and other public services."

Sharing some excerpts from the public meeting on his social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "The love, affection and trust that I have received on the holy land of Mukerian is my biggest strength. We are fulfilling every promise we have made. Free electricity, better government schools, financial assistance to women, comprehensive health services, daytime electricity supply to farmers and continuous efforts for the welfare of every section of the society have now become a reality. My politics is not for gaining power, but for the progress and prosperity of the people of Punjab. Your trust is our biggest responsibility. Let us all together take forward this journey of making Punjab once again the number one state of the country in every field.
