Raj Thackeray: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday targeted the central government during an event in Mumbai, questioning actors Vivek Oberoi and R. Madhavan, asking why they were living in Dubai if they felt everything had improved in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at an event organized by the MNS’s student wing, the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena, Raj Thackeray stated that many industrialists have left India and moved abroad. Referring to the 2019 biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that Vivek Oberoi, who played Modi in the film, also lives in Dubai. He also noted that R. Madhavan also lives in Dubai, and questioned why he was living abroad if everything was fine in India.

Amid Raj Thackeray’s statement, it also emerged that R. Madhavan had previously stated that he went to Dubai during the COVID-19 pandemic to further his son’s swimming career. Vivek Oberoi had said that he chose Dubai to start his business.
Raj Thackeray condemned the offensive language used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the protests at Jantar Mantar and said he agreed with the Prime Minister’s statement about forgiving the children. However, he also said a similar message should be sent to BJP supporters and trolls.
BJP also spoke on trolls and NEET issue
Raj Thackeray alleged that BJP trolls target many prominent leaders and public figures, preventing many artists from expressing their opinions openly. He stated that abusive language should not be used against anyone. He also said that while the NEET paper leak issue was a reason for the protests, the widespread support it received was the result of long-standing public anger.
