Home Minister Amit Shah will reach West Bengal today on a three-day visit.
New Delhi, 17 July 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach West Bengal tonight on a three-day visit. Tomorrow, he will visit the Jumagachh border outpost of the 18th battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in the state; There he will address the ‘Prahari Conference’, participate in the tree plantation program and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various developmental projects. Amit Shah will also interact with BSF personnel.
The Home Minister will hold several high-level meetings at ‘Uttarakanya’ in Siliguri. In these meetings, various administrative matters, implementation of new criminal laws in West Bengal and status of birth and death registration will be reviewed. He will leave for Kolkata in the evening.
On Sunday, Shah will chair a meeting regarding the law and order situation in West Bengal. He will also inaugurate the newly constructed ‘World Museum’ at Kolkata’s National Library. The Home Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the new curd production plant of ‘Amul Bengal Dairy’.
