Delhi Weather: Weather took a turn in Delhi-NCR, drizzle started in many areas; Know when it will rain heavily

New Delhi: The weather pattern in the national capital Delhi and NCR was completely changed on Friday morning. The sky remained densely cloudy and light rain and drizzle were recorded in many areas. The showers around Noida Sector-62, Greater Noida and Skon Temple brought relief to the people from the scorching heat and humidity. The Meteorological Department says that at present the monsoon is active, but favorable conditions for heavy rains have not yet been completely created.

Relief from light rain

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), it will be partly cloudy in Delhi-NCR on July 17. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder at many places. This will cause a slight drop in temperature and the weather will remain more pleasant than before. The Meteorological Department has predicted the maximum temperature to be between 38 to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to be between 28 to 29 degrees Celsius.

Thursday was the hottest day of July

Before getting respite from rain, Delhi saw its hottest day this July on Thursday. The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung weather center was 39.2 degrees Celsius, which was four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 30.2 degrees Celsius. People had to face a lot of problems due to the continuously increasing heat and humidity.

There are clouds, yet why is there no heavy rain?

According to weather experts, the south-western moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea are reaching Delhi, due to which clouds are forming, but due to reduced moisture on the way, there is not enough rainfall. Apart from this, at present there is no strong weather system active which can cause heavy rains. This is the reason why only light rain and drizzle is being seen in the capital.

When will it rain well?

IMD estimates that light to moderate rain may continue in Delhi-NCR till July 19. Monsoon activities are likely to intensify between July 20 and 22, due to which there may be good rain in the capital and surrounding areas.

People will get relief

Meteorologists believe that the movement of clouds will continue for the next few days. This is expected to provide relief from the scorching sun and humidity. If there is good rain after July 20 as per forecast, then the temperature of the capital may come down further and people will get great relief from the heat.
