According to the information received, the administration had issued a notice in this matter, but Abhishek Banerjee did not respond. After this, demolition started on Saturday. The administration demolished the building. In the morning, the administration reached the spot with bulldozers and demolished the illegally constructed part of the five-storey building.

Notice on Abhishek Banerjee’s office

Abhishek Banerjee’s office is in South 24 Parganas district. Where the administration had earlier put up a notice that the building was constructed without permission. The action was taken after Diamond Harbor MP Abhishek Banerjee did not respond. A large police force was deployed at the scene before the operation. After this action, the political atmosphere in West Bengal seems to be heating up. According to the information received, this office was closed since the assembly elections, but the valid documents of the office were not submitted. Abhishek Banerjee’s office was an important TMC office where large meetings were often held. However, it has become deserted after the results of the assembly elections.

Tight security

Additional security arrangements were made in the party office premises from Saturday morning. Barricades were erected around the area and senior police and civil administration officials were monitoring the operation. “We have made all necessary arrangements to ensure that this operation is carried out peacefully and in accordance with the law. The demolition work is being carried out according to legal procedures,” the official said. According to a notice issued by the district administration, the land where the party office is located was purchased in the name of a company called ‘Leaps and Bounds’. The notice also sought clarification regarding land ownership documents and construction records.
