Sensex and Nifty closed with gains

Sensex: Crude oil prices witnessed a sharp fall after US President Donald Trump announced the start of peace talks with Iran at a new level. The hopes of easing tensions in West Asia and the fall in crude oil prices had a positive impact on the domestic stock market. In the first trading session of the week, the BSE Sensex closed at 78,639.03 points with a gain of 544.39 points (0.70%). Whereas, NSE’s Nifty 50 index closed at 24,774.30 points with a bumper gain of 390.70 points (1.60%). Let us tell you that today the Sensex opened with a strong gain of 789 points and Nifty with a strong gain of 189 points.

Indigo’s shares surged sharply
On Monday, out of 30 Sensex companies, shares of 21 closed in the green with gains and the shares of all the remaining 9 companies closed in the red with losses. On the other hand, out of 50 Nifty 50 companies, shares of 44 closed in the green with gains and the shares of all the remaining 6 companies closed in the red with losses. Among the Sensex companies, the shares of the country’s largest airline company Indigo closed with the highest gain of 4.22 percent today. Whereas, Sun Pharma’s shares closed with the highest loss of 1.98 percent today.

TCS, Infosys shares also saw a sharp jump.
Among the rest of the Sensex stocks, TCS closed with a gain of 3.57 per cent, Infosys 3.54 per cent, Eternal 2.53 per cent, ITC 1.90 per cent, Axis Bank 1.83 per cent, Bajaj Finserv 1.75 per cent, L&T 1.56 per cent, HCL Tech 1.16 per cent, Trent 1.01 per cent, SBI 0.93 per cent, Hindustan Unilever 0.91 per cent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.77 per cent, ICICI Bank 0.62 per cent, Titan 0.51 per cent, HDFC Bank 0.42 per cent, Ultratech Cement 0.38 per cent, Asian Paints 0.24 per cent, BEL 0.14 per cent, Reliance Industries 0.13 per cent and NTPC shares closed with a gain of 0.13 per cent.

Shares of these companies closed in the red.
On the other hand, today shares of Bharti Airtel closed with a loss of 1.02 percent, Maruti Suzuki 0.95 percent, Tata Steel 0.37 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.32 percent, Adani Ports 0.15 percent, Power Grid 0.11 percent, Tech Mahindra 0.10 percent and Bajaj Finance 0.07 percent.
