Chennai, Aug 4:
The 10th edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) will begin today in Natham, Dindigul, marking the start of a nearly month-long domestic T20 tournament that will conclude with the final at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on August 28.
The competition will be held in two phases, with Dindigul hosting matches until August 15. The action will then shift to Chennai from August 18 for the remainder of the league stage and the knockout rounds.
The playoffs are scheduled as follows: Qualifier 1 on August 23, the Eliminator on August 24, Qualifier 2 on August 26, and the final on August 28. A total of 32 matches will be played this season, including 22 double-headers and 10 single fixtures.
Defending champion Idreams Tiruppur Tamizhans will look to retain its title as teams gear up for another competitive season. Fans can catch all matches live through official broadcast and streaming platforms.
The TNPL has steadily grown into one of India’s most prominent state-level T20 leagues, providing a platform for emerging cricketers to showcase their talent alongside seasoned domestic players. Over the years, the tournament has served as a stepping stone for several players who have gone on to feature in the Indian Premier League and higher levels of the game.
With a packed schedule and matches spread across key venues, organisers are expecting strong fan turnout and viewership. The combination of double-headers, competitive franchises, and local rivalries is set to ensure an engaging season for cricket enthusiasts across Tamil Nadu.
