Mangala Gauri Vrat: Mangala Gauri Vrat, observed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Gauri, is dedicated to Mother Parvati. This fast is especially observed by unmarried women with the desire to find a suitable life partner, while married women observe this fast for a happy married life and family prosperity.

This fast, which starts from Ekadashi of Ashadha Shukla Paksha and lasts for five days, will start this time from 25th July 2026 and will end on 29th July i.e. Guru Purnima.

Mangala Gauri fasting time

According to the Vedic calendar, Mangala Gauri Vrat will start on Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi Tithi on July 24 at 9:12 am and will continue till July 25 at 11:34 am. On the basis of Udaya Tithi, Gauri Vrat will be considered to start from Saturday, 25th July 2026. This day is also Devshayani Ekadashi, when Lord Vishnu enters Yoga Nidra and Chaturmas begins.

Auspicious time of Gauri Vrat 2026

On the first day of Gauri Vrat, Brahma Muhurta will be from 4:16 am to 4:57 am. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 12:00 noon to 12:55 pm. The auspicious time in the morning will be from 7:21 am to 9:03 am, whereas in the Pradosh period, the profit-progress muhurat will be from 7:17 pm to 8:34 pm.

Gauri Vrat 2026 duration and end

Gauri Vrat is observed for a total of five days. During this time, women observing fast make idols of Maa Gauri, Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha from sacred soil. Ritual puja and aarti is performed every morning and evening. Besides, night vigil is also considered to have special importance. On the fifth day, on Ashadh Purnima, the fast is broken and Parana is performed.

This year the five-day Gauri Vrat will end on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Ashadh Purnima Tithi will start from 6:18 pm on 28th July and will continue till 8:05 pm on 29th July.

Story of Mangala Gauri Vrat

A rich merchant named Dharampal and his wife had no shortage of wealth, but they had no children. By the grace of God, they were blessed with a son, but the threat of short life was looming on his life. It is said that he died of snakebite at the age of sixteen.
