The Shri Ramlila Mahasangh of Delhi has demanded a special preview screening from the producers. They say the film should not contain scenes or dialogue that could hurt religious sentiments.
Reason for the Screening Demand
Arjun Kumar, president of the Shri Ramlila Mahasangh, has written to the producers, requesting a special screening of the film so that representatives of the organization can view the story and dialogues in advance. Their aim is to ensure that any objectionable content can be discussed.
The organization believes that Ramayan is an important part of Indian culture, and it is essential to consider religious sentiments when making a film.
Example of the Adipurush Controversy
In the letter, Arjun Kumar cited Prabhas’s film “Adipurush,” which faced numerous criticisms after its release. He said that it is important to review the situation in advance to prevent such a situation from recurring.
The Mahasangh has stated that it has received information that some scenes in ‘Ramayana’ may hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.
Warning of Protests
The Shri Ramlila Mahasangh has appealed to the producers for cooperation and warned that if their demands are not heeded, protests may be held in Delhi and other states.
However, there has been no official response from the film’s producers to this demand.
Film Release Date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ will be released in two parts. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will be seen as Mother Sita. Yash will play Ravana, and Ravi Dubey will be seen as Lakshman. Sunny Deol will be seen in the role of Lord Hanuman.
The first part of the film will be released on Diwali 2026, while the second part is planned for Diwali 2027.
