Big blow to Uddhav Thackeray, six rebel MPs join Shiv Sena!
All six MPs have received approval from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, which means that the merger of the Uddhav faction MPs with the Shinde faction has been approved. In this way, Shiv Sena Shinde faction has a total of 13 MPs in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, 20 rebel MPs of Trinamool Congress who have joined NCPI have also been allowed to sit separately.
Shiv Sena UBT spokesperson Anand Dubey reacted sharply to the merger of 6 UBT MPs with Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Dubey said that in 2022, when our party was being broken, we have been fighting since then. But, from then till today we have not been able to find out what is our mistake?
He further said that if we go to court, it takes time and we get date after date. This time, our MPs who were stolen are being described as MPs from Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, whereas they were elected in our name and on our election symbol. In such a situation, the Lok Sabha Speaker gave his decision without listening to both the sides. This shows that democracy is becoming weak.
In fact, last month, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena carried out ‘Operation Tiger’, under which there was a split in Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT). Six Lok Sabha MPs from the UBT faction formally joined the Shinde faction.
The six rebel MPs include Omprakash Bhupal Singh alias Omraje Nimbalkar (Dharashiv/Osmanabad), Nagesh Bapurao Patil Ashtikar (Hingoli), Sanjay Haribhau Jadhav (Parbhani), Sanjay Uttamrao Deshmukh (Yavatmal-Washim), Bhausaheb Rajaram Wakchore (Shirdi) and Sanjay Dina Patil (Mumbai North East).
After this political turmoil, the number of Shiv Sena UBT in the Lok Sabha has reduced from 9 to 3, while the number of Shinde faction has increased from 7 to 13. Arvind Sawant (Mumbai South), Anil Desai (Mumbai South Central) and Rajbhau Waje (Nashik) are left in Uddhav Thackeray’s camp.
The thing to note is that this time the monsoon session is starting amidst changed political equations. NDA is trying to get many important bills passed by increasing its strength in Parliament. The priority of the government is to push forward the Constitution Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation and delimitation. This bill will require two-thirds majority in Parliament.
At the same time, the opposition is preparing to corner the government on NEET paper leak, Ayodhya Ram temple donation controversy, inflation and other issues.
