Momina Riasat, Zafar Shine as Pakistan Beat Sri Lanka in Final T20I

An impressive delivery from spinners Momina Riasat and Nashra Sandhu, along with a knock from Zafar, has set up a comfortable win for Pakistan at Dambulla.

Pakistan managed a four-wicket victory and avoided a whitewash in the T20I series. The spin magic has set up Pakistan to restrict Sri Lanka to 113 runs in their 20-over innings.

Inviting Sri Lanka to bat first, Pakistan’s bowlers were attacking from the start of the innings. Despite a decent start from Imesha Dulani and Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket for 36 runs.

With Imesha’s dismissal for 17 runs, Sanjana Kavindi joined Athapaththu as Sri Lanka scored 44 runs in the powerplay.

However, Pakistan spinners dominated the innings as Sri Lanka struggled to score runs in the innings. Momina Riasat delivered a crucial over dismissing Chamari Athapaththu and Sanjana Kavindi for 34 and 20 runs respectively.

The middle order didn’t make much of a contribution as the side crumbled, scoring only 113 runs in their 20-over innings.

Monima Riasat bagged two wickets while Umm-e-Hani, Nashra Sandhu, Tuba Hassan and Ayesha Zafar completed their spells with one wicket.

Chasing a 114-run target,Β  Pakistan lost the openers Muneeba Ali and Shawaal in the powerplay. With Najiha and Ayesha Zafar at the crease, Pakistan scored 44 runs in the power play.

Despite other batters getting dismissed at frequent intervals, Ayesh Zafar did make a crucial contribution, scoring 39 runs before being dismissed by Chamari Athapaththu.

However, Saira Jabeen and Tuba Hassan added the winning runs as the side completed the chase in the 19th over.

Despite Chamari Athapaththu and Kavish Dilhari bagging two wickets, Sri Lanka’s batting collapse set up Pakistan’s win in the final game.

Ayesha Zafar was named as the player of the match, while Imesha Dulani was named as the Player of the series.
