Rakhi can be sent by special cover, gift box, speed post even abroad
Keeping in mind the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, special arrangements have been made by the Indian Postal Department, Patan. Under this arrangement, Rakhis, greeting cards, gift items and other postal items will be delivered on time and safely. The Postal Department has made available special colorful Rakhi covers and boxes for Raksha Bandhan. Using these covers, sisters will be able to send their Rakhi safely to their brothers. The price of the special Rakhi cover has been fixed at Rs. 10.
Special boxes of various capacities are also available in all post offices for sending Rakhi, gift articles and sweets. The price of a box of 250 grams capacity is Rs. 35, the price of a box of 500 grams capacity is Rs. 40 and the price of a box of 1000 grams capacity is Rs. 50. All the main, sub and branch post offices under Patan division have been instructed for speedy acceptance, timely processing and priority distribution of Rakhi related mail. This will ensure that Rakhi reaches the specified destination within the stipulated time.
