Neeraj Chopra, who won the silver medal in the javelin at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, will be back in action. He will compete in the Lausanne Diamond League on August 21st.
Neeraj Chopra will be among the world’s leading javelin throwers, including Olympic and World Championship champions, at the Lausanne Diamond League meet on August 21st.
Apart from Neeraj Chopra, the Lausanne Diamond League will feature reigning Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, recent Commonwealth gold medallist Pathiraja of Sri Lanka, Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago and Peters of Grenada.
In Lausanne, spectators will see a variety of throwing styles and variations. The competition is fierce and exciting. With a strong javelin thrower, Grenada’s Peters’ meeting record of 90.61 meters could be in danger.
Switzerland’s Simon Weiland, who continues to make impressive progress, is confirmed as well as two previous European champions – Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Jakub Vadlech of Czechia and Julian Weber of Germany. World number two American Curtis Thompson will also be a contender.
Looking at the javelin results at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, Rumesh Pathiraja of Sri Lanka won the gold medal with a powerful throw of 89.75 meters in difficult windy conditions. Neeraj Chopra finished second with a throw of 85.83 meters. Yashveer finished third with his best throw to date of 85.41 meters and won the bronze medal.
