‘Operation Safed Sagar’ trailer out: Netflix unveils military drama inspired by the Kargil War

Netflix just put out the trailer for Operation Safed Sagar its upcoming military drama and the story seems built around one of the 1999 Kargil War’s more important but also lesser-known parts.

The series which is inspired by real events follows how the Indian Air Force was crucial in Operation Safed Sagar that historic high altitude air campaign that really helped the Indian Army during the conflict.

It’s the chapter you hear about less often but it mattered a lot, and the show seems to lean into that angle pretty directly.

Set amid the Kargil War scene the series sort of shows how the Indian Air Force moved in once Pakistani forces had taken hold of strategic spots over tough mountain terrain.

It is often said that Operation Safed Sagar was the world’s highest air operation and it became a landmark moment in India’s military history really defining how things turned out.

Alongside all of that the country’s youngest fighter squadron was pushed forward to face one of the nation’s hardest wartime problems head on.

Mixing big, loud action with those very private tales about grit, cost and duty Operation Safed Sagar tries to share an unheard part of India’s military history with people all over the globe.

This series kicks off on August 7 only on Netflix, exclusively.
