Official: Laimer furthers Bayern stay until 2029 with new contract

The Austrian international has improved his salary and will remain with the German record champions for the foreseeable future.

After rumours emerged from the player himself earlier today, Bayern Munich have announced that Konrad Laimer has extended his contract.

The 29-year-old put pen to paper on a new deal in the offices at Säbener Straße, keeping him with the Bavarians until 2029.

Laimer previously had demanded a salary increase from €9million to between €12-15million, which the club considered too high.

Ultimately, negotiations resulted in a moderate salary increase, partly because honorary president Uli Hoeneß intervened in discussions.

“We are delighted that Konny will continue his journey at FC Bayern,” Max Eberl, sporting director of FC Bayern, said.

“Reliability at the highest level has earned him a reputation, and with his skills and character, he is an important part of the team.

“He is a player who inspires and motivates others in the squad every single day,” he concluded after the extension was complete.
