Video being spread with misleading claims

In the viral clip, a large number of people are present on the platform of a station, who are targeting the train coming from the front. Social media users are sharing this video and claiming that this attack was carried out by ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) and Abhijit Deepke’s supporters.

In some posts, linking this incident with the protests taking place at Jantar Mantar, Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal is also being targeted.

On which train were stones pelted?

The biggest confusion regarding this video is regarding the identity of the train engine. Many users claimed that the crowd had damaged the country’s new hydrogen train. However, railway experts and zonal railways have completely rejected these claims.

According to Railways, the engine seen in the video is ‘WAG-12’ Which is a powerful electric freight locomotive with a capacity of 12,000 HP. This engine is manufactured by the French company ‘Alstom’ at Madhepura factory in Bihar. Has been done in collaboration with. Since its external design appears to be like a modern hydrogen train, people are making mistake in identifying it.

Hydrogen train is completely safe

The administration has confirmed that the hydrogen train (No. 74009/74010) running on Jind-Sonipat route of Haryana is completely safe and is providing services as per schedule.

This train covers a distance of approximately 89 kilometers in 2 hours and stops at 12 stations including Pandu Pindara. At present, it is not clear at which station and on which date this incident of stone pelting took place.
