PM Modi sent congratulatory message to UK PM Burnham, know what Modi said about the relations between the two countries
Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Andy Burnham on taking charge as the new Prime Minister of Britain and expressed confidence that bilateral relations between the two countries will further strengthen and reiterated India’s commitment to further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

PM Modi, in a post on social media platform ‘X’, mentioned the deep ties between India and Britain, which are based on shared democratic values and growing cooperation in many fields. The Prime Minister wrote, “Hearty congratulations to Mr. Andy Burnham on assuming the office of Prime Minister of Britain.”
Emphasizing the wide scope of bilateral relations, he said India and the UK have extensive cooperation in “trade, investment, technology, defense and people-to-people ties”. Referring to the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which came into force this month, he said that this historic agreement will give new impetus to bilateral relations. “With CETA coming into force this month, our bilateral partnership is set to get even stronger,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his desire to work closely with Burnham in the future and take forward the long-term vision decided between the two countries. Mr Modi said, “I look forward to working closely with you to further deepen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advance our shared ‘Vision 2035’.
