- It took five years to complete the project
Vidu Vinod Chopra Films and NH Studios have announced a long-term global rights partnership to bring the classic films of Indian cinema to audiences with innovative technology and better quality. Under this agreement, the entire film library of Vidu Vinod Chopra Films has been restored in 8K resolution and remastered with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. This ambitious project took more than five years to complete.
The films were restored at Prasad Film Labs in Mumbai and L’Imagine Ritrovata Studio in Bologna, Italy. It is noteworthy that these films were not available on any platform from the beginning of 2026.
Under this partnership, films like ‘Parinda’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Karib’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Eklavya: The Royal Guard’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, ‘Broken Horses’, ‘Wazir’, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ and ‘Shikara’ NH Studios will now manage the worldwide rights of popular films. The company will first re-release these films in theaters and then make them available on television, OTT, fast channels and other digital platforms. After this agreement, the film library of NH Studios has reached more than 5,000 films.

He expressed confidence that with 8K restoration and state-of-the-art sound, audiences will have a better cinematic experience of these timeless films than ever before.
