Among the many characters in the Mahabharata, Karna is considered to be the most complex figure. Raised in a charioteer’s home despite being the son of Surya and Kunti, Karna struggled throughout his life to establish recognition of his merit rather than birth. His extraordinary skill in archery, the discrimination faced by the society and his journey to preserve his self-respect are effectively presented in the series.

In the plot, Karna’s life takes a new turn from the tournament in Hastinapur. By entering the grounds reserved for the royal family, he displays a glimpse of his prowess and the events that follow change the course of the entire kingdom’s history. Friendship with Duryodhana, unwavering loyalty to him, politics, hidden truths and ongoing struggle with destiny will all be experienced in this series.

Karna’s story is not just about a warrior, but a story of a man rejected by society who gains honor through his achievements. His struggle to forge an identity beyond race, birth and social status is equally inspiring today. Hence, the series comes across as not only a mythological story but also a symbol of confidence, loyalty and struggle.

Speaking about the series, Graphics India co-producer and showrunner Sharad Devarajan said that Karna has always been the emotional centerpiece of Mahabharata. He who was rejected by birth, achieved greatness by his achievements. Even today, “Greatness is determined by birth or by deeds?” He mentioned that this question is equally important. He said that an attempt has been made through this series to present Karna’s story with the grandeur and sensitivity that befits him. The series ‘The Legend of Karna’, featuring magnificent animation, impressive visuals and the struggle of a great warrior from Mahabharata to the new generation, will be available to the audience from July 31 only on Sony Live. This series is likely to be a different and magnificent experience for the audience who love stories based on Mahabharata.
