Share Market Update: Sensex falls by more than 300 points, Nifty near 23,900, selling in IT-banking shares

Business Desk – Share Market Update: Trading in the Indian stock market started with a decline on Thursday (July 23). In early trade, the Sensex was seen falling more than 300 points and trading at the level of 76,400. At the same time, Nifty slipped almost 100 points and reached the level of 23,900. Most pressure was seen on IT and banking stocks in the market. Meanwhile, due to global tension, Brent crude jumped by about 2% to reach $ 96 per barrel, which has increased the concern of investors.

The impact of international developments is clearly visible on the market. Crude oil prices have increased due to increasing tension between America, Israel and Iran. There was mixed trading in Asian markets, while American markets had closed with a decline in the last trading session.

Sensex-Nifty fall

In early trading on Thursday morning, Sensex was trading at 76,400 level with a fall of more than 300 points. At the same time, Nifty fell by about 100 points and reached around 23,900. During trading, maximum selling was seen in shares of IT and banking sectors.

Crude oil crossed 96 dollars

There was a rise of about 2% in the prices of Brent crude today and it reached $ 96 per barrel. Market experts believe that if tensions between America, Israel and Iran increase further, crude oil may reach $ 120 per barrel. This may also affect the prices of petrol and diesel in India.

Mixed business for Asian markets

A mixed trend was seen in Asian markets today. South Korea’s Kospi was trading at 6993 with a gain of 180 points or 2.45%. Japan’s Nikkei rose 309 points or 0.47% to 66424. Whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was seen trading at 25189 with a rise of 296 points or 1.13%.

US market closed with decline

On July 22, American stock markets closed with weakness. Dow Jones fell 6 points or 0.01% and closed at 52219. The Nasdaq fell 146 points, or 0.57%, to 25,691, while the S&P 500 fell 10 points, or 0.14%, to 7,499.

How was FII-DII investment?

According to the latest data from institutional investors, DII made a net sale of Rs 418 crore in the latest session. However, in the last 7 days they have made net purchases of Rs 1,255 crore and in the last 30 days they have made net purchases of Rs 40,340 crore.

Whereas FII/FPI made a net sale of Rs 819 crore in the latest session. Foreign investors have made a net sale of Rs 667 crore in the last 7 days and Rs 10,204 crore in the last 30 days.

The market had broken in the last trading session also

Earlier on July 22 also a big fall was recorded in the stock market. The Sensex fell 715 points and closed at the level of 76,755. Whereas Nifty closed at 23,996 with a fall of 191 points.
