Chief Justice Surya Kant gave ultimatum on closure of 16 metro stations, open all gates by noon, ‘otherwise we will…’

New Delhi. In view of the increasing crowd of protesters and security in Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas of Delhi, DMRC decided to close 16 metro stations. The statement of Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant has come to light on this decision of DMRC. Surya Kant said that if the Supreme Court Metro Station is not opened by today afternoon, the Supreme Court will intervene in the matter.

SCBA had demanded

Let us inform that on Thursday, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Vikas Singh had raised this matter before Justice Surya Kant. Responding to this matter, Justice Surya Kant said that if the Supreme Court Metro Station is not opened by this afternoon then he will take action.

Talking on this matter, Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Kumar Singh said that lawyers and employees can be properly screened on the Supreme Court Metro, but the Metro Stations cannot be closed. Vikas said that the closure of metro stations is affecting the work of lawyers and Supreme Court employees. He said that lawyers and employees should be screened inside the metro itself, so that there will be no problem.

Order to open metro station till lunch

Talking on this matter, CJI Surya Kant said that if nothing is done to open it by lunch time, then I will intervene. He also said that he has instructed the judges that if any lawyer is unable to appear today due to protests and related problems, then no order should be passed against him.

A total of 16 stations have been closed

Let us tell you that on Thursday, DMRC had decided to keep 16 stations of Delhi closed from 7.30 am. The stations which have been decided to remain closed include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirtha, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh along with Shivaji Stadium metro station. All these stations have been closed till further orders.
