Telangana Government Engineer Found With Rs.150 Crore Assets: Telangana’s ‘Dhankuber’ Government Engineer, made assets worth more than Rs.150 crore through bribe and corruption

New Delhi. When the Anti Corruption Bureau team in Telangana raided the premises of a government engineer, it was found that the engineer is the owner of movable and immovable property worth more than Rs 150 crore. He has acquired this wealth through bribery and corruption. The ACB team has recovered papers of several immovable properties including 10 apartments, 2 kg of gold, luxury cars and bottles of foreign liquor worth lakhs of rupees from the engineer. The name of the engineer is Mutyam Venkat Ramana and he is working as Divisional Engineer in Renewable Energy Development Corporation (REDCO), Khairatabad, Hyderabad.

The ACB team on Wednesday simultaneously raided the house, office, some of his close relatives and associates of engineer Mutyam Venkat Ramana on charges of amassing disproportionate assets. During the raid, the investigation team found that the engineer had accumulated huge wealth from known sources of income. ACB found evidence that Ramana had made huge investments in real estate and construction sectors through four companies registered in his wife’s name. Officials have recovered bank deposits of Rs 52.02 lakh, 2.094 kg gold jewelery worth around Rs 4 crore, title deeds of several flats, houses and lands from the engineer’s bank accounts.

According to ACB, the total value of the property recovered from the engineer is around Rs 150 crore. According to investigators, 10 residential apartments under construction in Anjaneya Nagar, Moosapet have been developed by a company registered in the name of the engineer’s wife, in which an investment of about Rs 20 crore has been made. Earlier in December 2019, Ramana was caught taking a bribe of Rs 25,000. At that time he was working as Divisional Engineer (Technical) in the office of Superintending Engineer (Operations) in Cyber ​​City Circle, Hyderabad.
