As part of the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, a joint team of Narcotics Task Force (Crime Branch) and Jhunsi police station has arrested a youth with smack worth Rs 59 lakh 40 thousand. Police have recovered 297 grams of smack, cash received from sale and the mobile phone used in the incident from the possession of the accused. Advance legal action is being taken by registering a case against the accused under NDPS Act.
According to the police, while taking action in village Sonauti of Jhunsi police station area on July 22, 2026, the joint team arrested Raja Yadav (24 years), son of Virendra Singh Yadav, resident of village Sonauti, police station Jhunsi, district Prayagraj. During the search, a total of 297 grams of smack was recovered from him, which was in brittle and some solid and powdery form. The estimated value of the recovered smack in the international market has been estimated at Rs 59 lakh 40 thousand.
