BJP’s historic victory in Bengal will become a management lesson, IIM Calcutta is preparing a case study
There will be an academic analysis of BJP’s strategy, organization and leadership model in the 2026 assembly elections. Management skills will be taught to students through seven major aspects.
Knews Desk- In the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government for the first time by securing an absolute majority in the state. After defeating the Mamata Banerjee-led government, which has been in power for a long time, BJP’s election strategy is now going to become a subject of academic study. If this initiative is officially implemented, IIM Calcutta will create a detailed management case study based on it, which will help students understand the practical aspects of strategic management and leadership.
According to IIM Calcutta, this case study will analyze how the BJP achieved electoral success in a challenging state like West Bengal through organizational strength, strategic planning and grassroots work. The objective of this study will not only be to analyze politics, but to understand it from the perspective of management and leadership.
The case study will cover seven key points—
- organizational development: Years of organizational journey and expansion strategy.
- Election Management: Micro planning up to booth level and extensive public relations campaign.
- Strategic Analysis: Assessment of political circumstances and strategy made accordingly.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Leadership, coordination and coordination among workers.
- Grassroots Connect: The process of reaching out to common people and understanding local issues.
- Analysis of the weaknesses of the opposition: How were the challenges of the rival party incorporated into the election strategy?
- Management Lessons: Practical management and leadership lessons learned from the entire electoral process.
