Punjab News: Punjab Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat reviewed the construction work of the Horticulture Development Center being built in Ludhiana. He directed the officials to expedite the work and complete the project within the stipulated time frame.

Punjab government promoting horticulture

Mohinder Bhagat said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working to promote horticulture.

The objective of the government is to encourage farmers to cultivate other profitable crops along with traditional crops and increase their income. For this, modern facilities and necessary infrastructure are being prepared.

Farmers will get modern facilities

The Cabinet Minister said that the Horticulture Development Center being built in Ludhiana will prove to be very beneficial for the farmers. Here high quality plant material will be provided to the farmers.

Apart from this, farmers will also get information, training and technical guidance on modern horticulture techniques.

Development of horticulture sector will get new direction

Mohinder Bhagat said that the opening of this center will give a new direction to the development of horticulture sector in Punjab. Farmers will be helped in adopting new technology and achieving better production.

This will promote crop diversification and also help in increasing the income of farmers.

Special attention to construction quality

The Horticulture Minister directed the officials to regularly monitor the construction work. He said that good quality material should be used in the project and all the work should be completed as per the set standards.

He made it clear that any compromise on the quality of development works will not be tolerated.
