According to the Meteorological Department, a severe weather warning has been issued for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Many places may experience heavy rain, along with winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. Hailstorms are also possible in some areas, which could disrupt normal life.
Many states, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, will be affected.
Strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and heavy rain are expected in the capital, Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius.
An alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agra, and Gorakhpur. Districts like Patna, Gaya, Bhojpur, and Darbhanga in Bihar are also expected to experience strong winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
Higher Risk in Jharkhand and Hilly Areas
Severe weather is expected in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad in Jharkhand. Strong storms and torrential rains with winds of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour are possible here. Heavy rain and strong winds of 50 to 65 kilometers per hour are also forecast in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The continuous rain has increased the risk of landslides. People living near river banks, farmers, and fishermen have been advised to stay in safe places.
What is causing the weather change?
According to meteorologists, this significant change in weather is being caused by a cyclonic circulation over the southern Gangetic plains, the coastal region of West Bengal, and southwest Uttar Pradesh. A yellow alert has been issued for several parts of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Madhya Pradesh, while some areas of Rajasthan are expected to experience light rain and strong winds.
