Rahul Gandhi hits back at PM Modi’s video message, raises questions regarding students’ demands

Tezzbuzz Desk- Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the NEET paper leak issue. Criticizing the Prime Minister’s video message, he said that the government should pay attention to the main demands of the students and their voice should not be ignored.

Rahul Gandhi said through a post on social media platform ‘X’ that students are demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He alleged that this issue was not discussed in the video message released late night by the Prime Minister. Rahul Gandhi said that the government should seriously consider the concerns of the students.

Rahul Gandhi reiterated three major demands in his post. He said that first of all Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should be removed from the post. Apart from this, action should be taken against those who allegedly assaulted the protesting students and the government should apologize for this. Appealing to Prime Minister Modi, Rahul Gandhi said that the understanding of students and their problems should be respected. He said that merely talking about making laws will not solve the concerns of the students, but it is also necessary to fix responsibility.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a video message late on Thursday night and presented the government’s side on the paper leak issue. He said that the government is taking this matter seriously and strict action will be taken against the culprits. The Prime Minister said that in the Union Cabinet meeting, the proposed law to stop paper leaks will be discussed and finalized. He said that a bill with strict provisions against paper leaks will be introduced in the second week of the monsoon session of Parliament.

PM Modi said the government’s biggest priority was to ensure that the entire academic year of students is not wasted. He said that re-examination was conducted for about 22 lakh students and the results were released on time. The Prime Minister said that the government will not be limited to just conducting examinations, but will also create a strong system to prevent incidents like paper leaks. He said that instructions have been given to set up a fast track court to get the culprits punished quickly.

PM Modi said that the proposed law will include strict provisions against those who leak papers. He said that those who play with the future of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Earlier, the Prime Minister had also said through a social media message that the welfare of the youth and their future is the biggest priority of the government. He said that continuous steps are being taken to make the examination system transparent and prevent such incidents in future.

Protests by students and opposition parties continue across the country regarding the NEET paper leak issue. While the opposition is demanding accountability from the government and resignation of the Education Minister, the central government says that concrete steps are being taken for action against the culprits and examination reforms. Now everyone’s eyes are on the discussion in Parliament regarding this matter and the proposed bill to be brought by the government.
