Meanwhile, on Friday, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi held a press conference with Shahil, a student who was injured by pellet guns during the protest. Rahul Gandhi said that Congress and the protesting students have three major demands. First, the person responsible for the reason the paper was leaked should be removed. Second, action should be taken against those who opened fire and lathi-charged the students. Third, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should apologize to thousands of students of the country.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan cannot escape the responsibility of this entire controversy. Rahul Gandhi said that Dharmendra Pradhan is a symbol of this criminal education system. The responsibility for the downfall of the education system lies with them. My brother got shot, thousands of students are on the streets, it is because of him. They have to go. Rahul Gandhi also said that the injured students should get better treatment, proper compensation and justice. He said that instead of intimidating the students, their demands should be heard.
