Another big step has come towards the new pay revision of central government employees and pensioners. The 8th Central Pay Commission has announced the dates for holding consultation meetings with Delhi-based Central Government and Union Territory (UT) employee associations, federations and unions.

According to the official notice issued by the Commission, these meetings 7th August and 10th August 2026 Will be held in New Delhi. These meetings are being held to gather suggestions, recommendations and demands of the stakeholders before preparing the final report by the Commission.

Main conditions of the Commission in the notice of 23 July

The Pay Commission has clarified that certain conditions have been imposed for attending the meetings on 7th and 10th August:

• Organizations registered in Delhi: Only unions of Central and UT employees located or registered in Delhi can participate in it.

• Mandatory submission of memorandum: Only those unions can seek appointment, which have already submitted their memorandum to the Commission.

• The meeting has not taken place before: Those organizations should not have previously held personal discussions with the Commission in Delhi or any other State/UT.

It is mandatory to apply online by 31st July

The Commission has set a deadline for eligible organizations wishing to participate in the meeting. to eligible unions 31 July 2026 You will have to submit a request for appointment through online mode with your Unique Memo ID. The exact time and place of the meetings will be informed later.

Schedules will be issued for unions of other states also

The Commission has clarified that this is not the last round of talks. A separate schedule of meetings will also be issued for employee organizations located in other states and union territories across the country in the coming months. Unions outside Delhi-NCR will be able to communicate with the Commission in their respective state or nearest Union Territory.

Why are these meetings important?

Negotiation with employee unions is a very important process for every pay commission. During this discussion the employee representatives put forward their demands before the Commission on the following issues:

• New pay matrix and fitment factor (Fitment Factor)

• Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA)

• Amendment in pension and gratuity

• Career Progression and Other Terms of Service

The Commission will submit its final recommendations to the Central Government only after a detailed review of these memoranda, demands of employee organizations, and data received from various ministries.
