Barnala DSP Suspended After Incident Involving Sanitation Workers, Says Meet Hayer

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has ordered the immediate suspension of Barnala Sub-Division DSP Satvir Singh following an incident involving sanitation workers in Barnala, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Harmeet Singh Meet Hayer said on Friday.
Condemning the incident, the Sangrur MP described it as “deeply unfortunate” and “highly condemnable”, adding that the matter was discussed with the Chief Minister soon after it came to light.
According to Meet Hayer, the Chief Minister directed that DSP Satvir Singh be suspended with immediate effect pending further action.
He said the Bhagwant Mann-led government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards injustice and misconduct and is committed to safeguarding the dignity and rights of every citizen.
“The government believes in taking swift and decisive action whenever such incidents come to light, and justice will be ensured,” Meet Hayer said.
The AAP leader reiterated that the state government remains committed to ensuring accountability in cases involving alleged misconduct by public officials.
No further official details regarding the incident or the circumstances leading to the DSP’s suspension were immediately available.
