In view of the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has issued instructions to close all shops, offices, restaurants and other establishments in Connaught Place, the main commercial area of ​​Delhi, by 6.30 pm on Thursday.

It is noteworthy that CJP’s protest has been going on in Central Delhi for the last several days. This movement is against the alleged paper leak in NEET UG 2026. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

CJP leaders have also rejected the central government’s offer to initiate talks, even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced setting up fast-track courts to hear paper leak cases. Protests are still continuing in Jantar Mantar and Tolstoy Marg area, due to which the deployment of security forces has been increased.
