Ruckus before the students’ demonstration in Patna, police lathicharged; Tej Pratap Yadav also in custody

Bihar: The atmosphere became tense even before the proposed demonstration of students at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. While stopping the students from reaching the grounds, there was a confrontation between the police and the protesters, after which the police had to use mild force. The administration has tightened security in the entire area to prevent any kind of chaos. A large number of policemen have been deployed in and around Gandhi Maidan.

The police are continuously stopping the students coming to participate in the protest. Many students have been detained and removed from the spot. Police are not allowing any group to gather around Gandhi Maidan. The students who came to participate in the protest say that they want to raise their voice for their demands in a peaceful manner. The protesting students raised slogans against the government, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Tej Pratap Yadav, who came in support of students, also detained

According to the information, activists and other students associated with leftist student organizations were continuously trying to reach Gandhi Maidan. However, the police stopped them before they could reach the ground. Some students were detained and sent to other places in police vehicles. The administration has said that this step is being taken to maintain security and prevent any untoward incident. Surveillance has been increased in the entire area by the police.

Amidst the students’ protest, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav also reached Gandhi Maidan in support of them. However, the police also took him into custody. After being detained, Tej Pratap Yadav spoke in support of the students. He said that he stands with the youth in their struggle and is ready to provide all possible support in the fight for their rights. After the detention of Tej Pratap Yadav, political controversy has also intensified. Opposition leaders have raised questions on the police action. At the same time, the administration says that necessary steps are being taken to maintain law and order.

Clash between police and students at Dakbungalow intersection

The situation also worsened during the students’ demonstration at Dakbungla intersection in Patna. When the police tried to stop the protesters from moving forward, it came to light that some people were pelting stones at the police team. After this, the police resorted to lathicharge to control the situation. Security has been further increased in the area after the clash between police and protesters.

News of stone pelting from many districts also

Apart from Patna, incidents of stone pelting during protests have also come to light in some other districts of Bihar. Information about such incidents has been received from Chhapra, Saharsa and Bhagalpur. The administration has deployed additional police forces in sensitive areas and the situation is being constantly monitored. Officials say that security forces have been kept alert to deal with any situation. An appeal is also being made to the protesters to maintain peace.

Demonstrations have been going on in Delhi for several days

This protest involving students is not limited to Patna only. Youth have also been protesting in the national capital Delhi for the last five days. The protesters are adamant on demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protesters have given the government time till Saturday night to take a decision on their demands.

This movement is running in support of Cockroach Party (CJP) and is being led by party president Abhijit Deepke. However, amid the protest, news of Abhijeet Deepke’s ill health has also come to light. After investigation, it has been said that typhoid has been confirmed in him. Despite this, political and social unrest regarding the demonstration continues.
