New Delhi. 27th July is recorded in the history of Indian sports as a historic achievement in the field of shooting. On this day in the year 1994, India’s young shooter Jaspal Rana made the country proud by winning the gold medal in the junior category of the 46th World Shooting Championship held in Milan, Italy.
Jaspal Rana created a new record by scoring 569 marks out of 600 in the competition and proved his talent at the world level. This brilliant performance gave him a new identity in the international shooting world and established India’s name with respect on the world sports stage.
This achievement was the first world level gold medal of Jaspal Rana’s career. After this, he took Indian shooting to new heights by winning many medals in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and other international competitions.
This historic victory of Jaspal Rana proved to be an inspirational moment for Indian shooting. His success attracted many young players of the country towards this sport and played an important role in giving India a strong identity in world shooting.
