Ahead of its launch, the new Bajaj Pulsar 150 has been spotted at a dealership, revealing details of the bike’s updated platform and new hardware. The new Pulsar 150 is believed to be part of the updated models in the company’s existing Pulsar lineup, which also includes the updated Pulsar N160 and the next-generation Pulsar 125, recently spotted testing.
New Frame and Monoshock Suspension
The new Pulsar 150 is being built on a completely updated platform. The bike features a single downtube frame. Its rear suspension will also see significant changes. The new bike features a preload-adjustable monoshock instead of the current model’s twin shock absorbers.
The traditional telescopic fork has been retained at the front. The new frame and monoshock setup are expected to improve the bike’s handling and riding comfort.
New Engine and Power
The biggest mechanical change in the new Pulsar 150 is expected to be the engine. According to media reports, the bike could feature an air- and oil-cooled engine. The additional cooling system is expected to improve engine thermal management and provide the company with greater flexibility in engine tuning.
However, Bajaj Auto has not yet shared official details about the new bike’s engine power, torque, and other technical specifications.
The current Pulsar 150 is powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder engine that produces 14 hp and 13.3 Nm of torque. It is expected that the new model will retain the same engine displacement.
New Design and Updated Features
The new Pulsar 150 is expected to feature a more modern design than the current model. The bike features a redesigned headlight cowl, a muscular fuel tank with extensions, and a slimmer tail section. Additionally, Bajaj’s signature twin LED tail-lamp setup can be seen at the rear.
Specifications for features include a color LCD instrument cluster. Spy images also revealed alloy wheels and a front disc brake.
Although major design changes have been made, the bike’s overall styling retains the Pulsar family identity.
Competition with these bikes
Upon launch, the new Bajaj Pulsar 150 will compete with motorcycles in the 150-160cc segment. Models like the TVS Apache RTR 160 and Honda CB150 Hornet are expected to be its key rivals.
With a new chassis, monoshock suspension, an updated engine, and modern features, Bajaj is aiming to make the Pulsar 150 even more competitive in this segment.
