Haldwani/Amrit Vichar: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge arrived at the Ramlila Ground in Haldwani on Saturday for the Vijay Shankhnaad rally. Addressing the public from the stage, he sternly declared that BJP members were among those stealing donations from temples. He accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of avoiding answering questions about the action taken at Jantar Mantar and not attending Parliament.
Kharge said that the BJP accuses him of not being a devotee of Ram, but the BJP should reveal who is stealing donations from temples. He said that whenever he raises the issue of temple donation theft in Parliament, 60 to 70 BJP MPs create a ruckus and prevent him from speaking. They do this because they fear that if he speaks, their theft will be exposed.
He said that gold, silver bricks, and the golden Ramcharit Manas have been stolen in the name of God. He said that those who steal God’s donations are against Ram. We are those who are against this theft. He also spoke on the issue of E-20, saying that the BJP says to form double-engine governments in the states, but the BJP’s double engine is already faulty, and the E-20 petrol introduced by the government is damaging people’s engines.
He termed the action of police and other forces against the students protesting at Jantar Mantar as wrong. He said that we are calling Home Minister Amit Shah to Parliament to answer on this matter but he is not coming and on the contrary BJP is accusing us that we are not allowing the Parliament to function. If he (Amit Shah) does not want to come then we also do not want to leave him. He said from the stage that we should take a pledge to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of the country because it is Rahul Gandhi who goes to meet the people whenever there is oppression anywhere in the country.
He said that he has demonstrated this through the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He asked, “Have you ever seen PM Narendra Modi or the Home Minister meet with students and farmers who raise their voices?” He also targeted the state government, saying that any development here has only been done during the Congress regime.
