How to prepare soil at home?

Making Ganesha idol at home is very simple and does not use any kind of chemicals or harmful colors. First of all, select soil that is completely clean and does not contain pebbles or stones. If the soil is hard, soften it by soaking it in water for some time. Moisten the clay in such a way that you can easily make shapes from it, neither too wet nor too dry. Start the process of making the idol from the bottom part. Take a small ball of clay and make a seat for Bappa. Next, take a larger part and make a round or oval shape, which will be Bappa’s torso. By adding a little water to it, the soil sticks well.

How to add head, trunk, arms and crown?

Now make another small circle and add it above the torso, which will become Bappa’s head. After this, take a thin piece of clay, round it slightly, give it the shape of a trunk and attach it at the mouth area below the head. The trunk can be turned left or right as per your choice. Make small pieces of clay for Bappa’s hands and attach them to both sides of the torso. To make the ears, make small and thin strips of clay and place them in a round shape on either side of the head. Finally, make a small triangular design of clay and place Bappa’s crown.

How to dry and paint the sculpture?

When the idol is completely made, keep it in the shade to dry for one to two days. When the soil dries completely, you can use turmeric, sandalwood or natural colors dissolved in water on it, which will not cause any harm to the environment. Thus, you will have a clean and natural Ganesha look at home.
