Read Desk. Actress Raveena Tandon has expressed her opinion on the student protests across the country. He praised the peaceful protests in Mizoram, but expressed concern that similar movements elsewhere had been hijacked by political interests and publicity seekers.
This post of Raveena comes a day after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Pradhan had resigned after weeks of CJP-led protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over allegations of NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. On Instagram, Raveena wrote that she hopes that the voices of students are finally being heard and that these protests can bring meaningful change in the country’s education system.
Raveena Tandon praised peaceful protests in Mizoram
Sharing several pictures on Instagram, Raveena wrote that the recent student protests have given her hope. “Happy and proud that finally the voices are being heard, #studentsprotest #Rishikeshprotest, and there is hope. Till now the environment/community animals/wildlife/deforestation protests were not reaching any results and were losing. People are becoming aware and future generations have to understand that this is the only planet we have. There is no ‘Planet B’ (another planet). This is what we need for their future. This is what needs to be saved.”
After this, Raveena praised the way the students demonstrated in Mizoram.
“The peaceful protests in Mizoram and other states have set an example. Hats off to them. Unfortunately, the peaceful student movement in some states was hijacked by miscreants and political parties and some people were there just looking for a chance to make reels and grab the limelight. After all, it was a victory for the legitimate demands.”
‘Violence could have derailed the protest’
The actress also condemned the incidents of violence and damage to public property and said such actions do not represent the student movement. “There were definitely unruly elements behind the violence and damage to government property. Those outsiders (who were not students) could have derailed this protest. Still, after this I am hoping and praying for a positive change in our education system, in which corruption is eliminated from our government schools too and everyone can get education easily. I am exercising my freedom of expression. Your opinion may be different, but I respect that too. Jab Padhega India, Badhega India. Jai Jai “Hind. Jai Hind ki Janata-Awam #indiafirst.”
Why were students protesting at Jantar Mantar?
Nationwide protests were organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) following allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 exam (which also included claims of paper leaks). Thousands of students gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and several other states demanding accountability, reforms in exams and action against those responsible. These protests resulted in the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25.
