‘Country should always come first for the youth’…PM Modi said in the Vibrant Village Program developed
Tezzbuzz Desk – Under the Vibrant Village Program developed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the youth across the country through video conferencing. He emphasized on the development of border villages, role of youth and strengthening the local economy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with youth across the country through video conferencing under the Vibrant Village Programme. More than 5,000 youth from 245 border villages participated in this program. During the programme, the youth shared their experiences of the border areas, while the Prime Minister discussed with them the changes taking place in the villages and the challenges there.
Border villages were described as the first villages of the country.
Prime Minister Modi said that border villages may be distant only geographically, but emotionally they bind the entire country together. He said that earlier these villages were called the “last villages” of the country, but his government has changed the thinking and considered them the “first villages” of the country.
He said that the feeling of patriotism is most visible in the border areas. For the people there, country comes first and other facilities later.
Share your experiences with the youth
PM Modi said that before coming into public life, he too had the opportunity to visit border villages and spend time with the people there. He told that even today he still has old contacts with many people. He also said that he tries to celebrate the festival of Diwali every year with the soldiers deployed on the border.
Emphasis placed on purchasing local products
The Prime Minister appealed to the youth that whenever they travel to a new place, they should spend at least five percent of their expenditure on local shopkeepers and products. He said that this will strengthen the local economy and increase employment opportunities in rural areas.
Told the role of youth is important
The Prime Minister said that youth have the biggest role in building a developed India. He said that through the platform “My Youth Bharat” crores of youth across the country are joining various campaigns for nation building.
He said that lakhs of youth had applied for the Vibrant Village Program developed, out of which the selected youth stayed in border villages for a week and spent time with the people there, understood their culture and shared their experiences. This initiative is an excellent example of converting the diversity of the country into unity.
Message also given on collectivity and culture
While talking to the youth, Prime Minister Modi said that India’s biggest strength is its tradition of collectivism. He said that working together increases strength and collective activities also make the society stress free. He called upon the youth to travel to different parts of the country, share their experiences and spread the positive stories of border villages to as many people as possible.
