Rahul Gandhi alleged in the letter that excessive force was used against the peacefully protesting students and there should be a fair investigation.

Rahul Gandhi also shared his letter on social media platform ‘X’ on Sunday. He said that the students were protesting peacefully demanding transparency and accountability in the education system, but instead of listening to them, force was used on them.

Serious questions raised on police action

In his letter, Rahul Gandhi claimed that tear gas and pellet guns were used during the demonstration, due to which many students were injured. He alleged that during the action the girl students were also beaten up. Rahul Gandhi has demanded an impartial investigation into these allegations and action against the responsible officials.

Ask two direct questions to Amit Shah

Rahul Gandhi has asked two important questions to Home Minister Amit Shah.

• Was the Home Ministry sanctioned for the use of lethal force, including pellet guns, against the students? If not, who ordered it?
• Who were the people seen lathi-charging the students in plain clothes? Were they policemen or other individuals, and who ordered their deployment?

Right to protest is necessary in democracy

Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that peaceful protests are an important part of any democracy. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure the safety of the protesters and resolve their grievances through negotiations. He said that if the allegations of use of force are true then it is against democratic values ​​and established rules.

Rahul Gandhi claimed in the letter that the photos and videos surfaced in the media and social media have revealed that many students have been seriously injured. Referring to Sahil, a 19-year-old student, he said he was reportedly at risk of losing vision in one eye due to a pellet gun injury. Rahul Gandhi said that the security forces deployed in Delhi ultimately work under the Home Ministry, so the government should give a clear answer to this entire incident.
