A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Tej Pratap Yadav, if proven guilty he will be sentenced to up to 10 years!

Patna: Janashakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav’s troubles have increased due to the violence in Patna during Bihar Bandh. The police have registered an FIR against him under several serious sections of the Indian Justice Code, including attempt to murder. The court has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days and currently he is in Beur Central Jail.

Violence in Gandhi Maidan, many policemen injured   

According to Patna Police, this matter is related to the clash that took place during Bihar Bandh. Bihar bandh was called in protest against NEET paper leak, resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and police action on students. A large number of people had gathered around Gandhi Maidan. It is alleged that the crowd turned violent during the demonstration. Stone pelting took place and there was a clash with the police.

In this, many policemen including Gandhi Maidan police station in-charge Akhilesh Mishra, TOP in-charge Pramod Kumar were injured. Gandhi Maidan police station case number 400/26 has been registered in this case, in which Tej Pratap Yadav has been named. Police arrested Tej Pratap from a shopping mall in Patna on Saturday evening. The next day he was produced in the court, from where judicial custody was ordered.

Section 109 of BNS is the most serious   

Several sections of BNS have been invoked in the FIR. The most serious charge is that of Section 109, which is related to attempt to murder. Police say that the acts committed during the violence could have resulted in the loss of someone’s life. According to legal experts, if this allegation is proved then there can be a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine. If the victim is proven to have suffered serious injury, the punishment may extend to life imprisonment.

Apart from this, sections like Section 132 – Assault on public servant, Section 251 – Rioting, Section 191(3) – Rioting with weapons, Section 196 – Spreading enmity between groups, Section 223 – Disobeying lawful order, Section 61(2) – Criminal conspiracy, Section 299 – Hurting religious sentiments and Section 293 have also been imposed on him. Besides, Sections 3 and 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act 1984 have also been added, which relate to damage to government property.

Lawyer raised questions on arrest  

Tej Pratap’s lawyer has raised questions on the arrest process. He says that proper procedure was not followed. The lawyer said that the bail petition will be filed soon. At present the police is investigating the entire matter.

Officials say that all videos, statements of witnesses and other evidence related to the violence are being scrutinized. Whether the allegations will be proved or not will be decided in the court on the basis of evidence. After the violence during Bihar Bandh, cases have been registered against many leaders, but the charge of attempt to murder against Tej Pratap makes this case the most serious.
