A senior commander of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba died under mysterious circumstances at a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan. Commander Qari Saeed Abdul Aziz had eaten at an unknown restaurant before reaching Quba Mosque to offer prayers. After this, he suddenly collapsed at the mosque gate and died. The cause of his death was not immediately clear. Qari Saeed was in charge of the department of Lashkar that helped the families of terrorists killed in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.
The news of his sudden death comes at a time when a senior LeT operative has claimed that unidentified persons have killed around 30 members of the organisation inside Pakistan. In a video, Rizwan Hanif is seen claiming that in the last three-four years, several members of his banned organisation, responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks (in which 166 people were killed), have been killed in different areas of Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).
Unidentified individuals have killed more than 30 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants in Peshawar, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Rawalakot, and Muzaffarabad. This is the first time a militant affiliated with LeT has publicly acknowledged such killings. LeT was banned by the United Nations in 2005 for its links to al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
