Maruti Suzuki Statement: Now a new twist has come in the famous case related to E20 petrol. Let us inform you that after the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, ordered Maruti Suzuki India to provide a new E20-fuel compatible car to the complainant within 45 days, the company has announced to challenge this decision. In this case, the Commission had said in its order that if the company does not provide a new car within the stipulated time, then it will have to return the price of the vehicle i.e. Rs 20,50,494. Along with this, other compensation was also ordered. However, now Maruti Suzuki says that some important facts were not given adequate attention in the decision of the Commission.
Evidence of fuel adulteration found
For information, Maruti Suzuki said in its official statement, “We have become aware of an order from the Raipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. In this order, Maruti Suzuki has been directed to replace the customer’s vehicle with a new E20 compatible vehicle. The car involved in this case was E20 compatible and was fully prepared to use E20 fuel and this information was also given in the owner’s manual.”
The company further stated, “Evidence of adulteration has been found in the fuel collected from the customer’s vehicle. The order also ignores several other important facts. Maruti Suzuki will take the necessary steps to challenge this order before the appropriate higher forum in accordance with the law. Maruti Suzuki is fully committed to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction through robust engineering, processes, and systems.”
What is the whole matter?
So far, the complainant has alleged that after using E20 petrol in his car, the engine began experiencing frequent problems. The vehicle’s performance declined, and despite repeated repairs at an authorized service center, the problem remained unresolved. The consumer claims that the engine problems began after using E20 petrol and persisted. Based on this, he filed a complaint with the Consumer Commission, which ruled in his favor.
